Time for a Reset!

Setting intentions and resolutions and goals

Did you know that just over 40% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions? Can you guess how many were successful in keeping their resolutions? Less than 10% of those who make them. Am I the only one surprised by that?!?

I am definitely part of the majority who have the best of intentions in making resolutions, and who do a GREAT job following through for a month or so, but then tend to fall off the wagon sometime in the February/March timeframe. It’s so easy to get comfortable with how things are and, well… coast.

Well, this year is different. It’s time for a reset! I’m taking a good, hard look at my personal and professional goals and priorities. Why? It’s two-fold. First, even though I don’t have a high success rate with my past resolutions, I’m a firm believer that you have a much better shot reaching the goals you make than the ones you don’t. Second, I just had a milestone birthday and turned the big 4-0. What a humbling reminder of how time flies. I’m entering a new chapter of my life and plan on making it a great one!

One of my goals is to write a blog, which is why I created Le Foyer. I’ll be writing about things that are of interest to me including travel, food, career, fashion, products and more. In other words, a lifestyle blog with a local twist.

I also plan on doing some soul searching professionally. While I love my job, I’ve always had an interest in starting my own business. So, in the next year, I will be vetting some of my ideas with family and friends and am excited to see where they land.

Finally, I will be re-establishing my commitment to work/life balance. To me, that means getting back to my yoga mat, spending more quality time with family and friends (old and new), trying new things and taking time to enjoy the simple things in life.

My blog posts will be full of these topics and more, but I also want to hear from YOU. Let me know what you think of my blog content. What topics are you interested in and want to hear more about? Leave your comments below or send me an email.

More to follow soon. In the meantime, follow Le Foyer and check back soon for updates.
