Essentials for a Valentine’s Day (Or Night) In

Valentines Day During Marriage

February is the month of love. Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with a loved one, or home alone, why not make it special.

If you’re looking for Valentine’s Day gift ideas for your loved one, check out my post Luxe Gifts for the Valentine in your Life. You could also combine some of the ideas from below and surprise her with a luxurious night in.

If you’ll be spending Valentine’s Day at home, or alone, why not treat yourself to some pampering. It doesn’t entail crowds or expensive gifts; just you and some well-deserved downtime. The list below contains some essentials to do just that.

Lingerie or Pajamas

The first thing that comes to mind for many people on Valentine’s Day is lingerie. For a night in, go for something classic to lounge in, like Journelle’s Garbo PJ set, or Lunya’s washable silk set and/or long cardigan. Lingerie is one of those things worth splurging on. Choose quality and something you’ll feel amazing in.

Diptyque Roses Candle

I’ve already sung the praises of Diptyque candles, but you truly cannot beat the Diptyque Roses candle, especially this month. The Baies and Figuier scents are also amazing.

Fresh Rose Face Mask & Sugar Lip Treatment

This cult-favorite, Fresh Rose Face Mask, is soooo good. It works for any skin type, and smells incredible! Another favorite from this brand is their sugar lip treatment. It comes in clear or color, and no wonder it has 200K likes, it truly makes your lips feel like a dream.

A Great Book or Movie

Roses by Leila Meacham is a wonderful book choice. It’s a modern version of Gone with the Wind, and a great love story. Another recent favorite is The Nightingale by Kristin Hanna. It’s a beautiful story, and one you won’t be able to put down.

There are so many movie options to choose from depending on your tastes. I love the classics, so in my mind, they don’t get much better than Casablanca, Doctor Zhivago or the English Patient. Or, just binge-watch your favorite series on Netflix.

Wine & Chocolate

Pairing the two of these can be tricky, but it’s worth it! Generally, a sweet wine is best with chocolate. Vintage-style port is a classic choice, or look to Italy and France for other options. Rosé or Moscato are good places to start, but there are also more robust reds that will work.

I hope you enjoy this list and your cozy night in. Are there other things you’d add to the list? Add them to the Comments section below.
